“His Glory Touched The Trees”

Easter 2025

Painted during worship on Easter Sunday, this piece was created without a plan, led entirely by the Holy Spirit. After it was finished, God revealed its meaning: it is a vision through Jesus’ eyes as He steps out of the tomb. The radiant light shining from the open tomb behind Him touches the olive trees ahead—representing creation awakened by His resurrection glory.

The golden brushstrokes symbolize that holy light. The trees, rooted yet reaching, reflect the moment the garden responded to life overcoming death.

What I love so much about flowing with the spirit of God, are things like this example. I honestly had no clue what I was painting. When I put my glasses back on and went to sit in my seat my husband remarked “I like your Hooville trees”. I did notice the painting looked like weird trees and I giggled about it stating, “I don’t paint objects so of course my trees would look like that".”

What happened next: We were sitting on our sofa as I gasped! I heard God say, “That painting is a vision through Jesus’s eyes as he walked out of the tomb.” I quickly started researching what kind foliage would have been in that area at that time. There were two types of trees. I do not remember the first but the second was olive trees. I did not know what those looked like so I quickly searched.

Holy Moly! Squiggly trunks! I was in awe and then I sat back with the thought… “Man God is so cool and I love having such a cool relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.” I posted a pic of what Ai created when I asked for a vision of what this (olive trees) may look like.

UPDATE: We took a trip to DC and visited the Bible Museum a few months later. They have a section where you can walk where Jesus walked through Jerusalem. As soon as you walk in there are olive trees!!! Looked so similar and I giggled at just how cool our God really is. I mean if you noticed, this painting was painted on resurrection Sunday!!! (see pics below)
