“DIRECTION”
Created During: Corporate Worship and Completed in Obedience
Story & Process:
This piece began during corporate worship months ago, painted in the thick of spiritual resistance. The atmosphere felt heavy and wrong — I discerned the presence of Jezebel and almost stopped, but the Holy Spirit said, “Press on.”
What began as turmoil soon turned to fire sweeping through a land — a confrontation between the spirit of Babylon and the fire of purification. Later that day, the message preached confirmed it: the sermon was about Babylon, and I clearly heard the Lord say, “Get out of Babylon else you will face the plague.” (see picture of original painting below and the process)
Weeks later, the Holy Spirit gave new instruction: paint over it, but leave the right side untouched — the area representing the New Jerusalem and purpose. Layer by layer, I obeyed, covering what was dark with white, then light, then life. As I followed His direction, something new emerged — forms like birds in motion, each distinct yet moving in unity, caught in the same current of wind.
Prophetic Meaning:
“Direction” speaks of divine alignment — the Body of Christ catching the same wind of the Spirit, each moving uniquely yet headed toward one destination: purpose. Some fly high, others lower, each on their own current, but all are guided by the same breath. (OMG just heard God say “This is what happened on Pentecost, “One accord”.) WOAH !!!! C’mon Revival!
This painting continues the message from my earlier piece, “Process to Purpose.” Together, they tell the story of purification, alignment, and fulfillment — of moving from the wilderness into destiny.
Scripture References:
Revelation 18:4 (TPT) – “Then I heard another voice from heaven saying:
‘My people, come out from her so that you don’t participate in her sins and have no share with her in her plagues.’Isaiah 30:21 (NIV) – “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”
John 3:8 (NIV) – “The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
Artist’s Reflection:
I paint what I sense in the atmosphere — what heaven is releasing or what needs to shift. “Direction” is a visual testimony of obedience: pressing through opposition, painting through warfare, and yielding to the Spirit until purpose is revealed.
